“We have been using MotorOne after market sales to boost our bottom line every month for close on 3 years now” says Matthew Newman, Dealer Principal of South Auckland Motors.

South Auckland Motors have adopted the tried and proven technique that MotorOne have been running for 30 years in over 1100 dealerships throughout Australasia to sell MotorOne after market products to used and new vehicle purchasers.

Matthew Newman says: “MotorOne has been very successful for us at South Auckland Motors and now contributes a healthy budget every month to our bottom line.  We have a full time Customer Care Consultant that only focuses on these products; it is a position totally separate to our Business Manager.  In fact the key to the success has been having a specialist who only looks after our “after market sales.”  They derive 100% of their income from this side of the business, plus to help its internal success, it is also structured so some of the other managers are enjoying income benefits from this source.

MotorOne approached us close to 3 years ago to implement this extra revenue step in the selling process.  We trialed it for 2 weeks and the rest is history.  Close to 100% of our used car customers and our private and proprietor owned new vehicle customers are turned over to Kim our dedicated Customer Care Consultant before they see our Business Manager.

All the products we sell including tinting, paint protection, interior protection and rust prevention are applied by MotorOne’s specialist application centre off site, we do not get involved in any of this work which is another plus.  Probably 80% of the products we sell come from paint and fabric protection and tint.  All the products are very good and as they are applied by trained specialists problems are negligible.  All the products come with a warranty and any small problems we’ve had get sorted straight away.

We have had approaches from other after market suppliers but none of them offer the same professionalism and total package that MotorOne provides.

It’s where F&I was 20 years ago

I feel that these after market sales are where F&I was 20 years ago.  With the on-going profit pressure on margins and the pressure on F&I returns we needed something else to help.  The income generated by this method is incremental business – our customers are spending more money at the dealership in total.  Vehicle sales people are not good at selling after market products and accessories and the F&I operators also struggle.

When done correctly the MotorOne method provides substantial profit opportunity for our dealership – and the customers like the additional service we are providing – it’s a real win win.

I would encourage any dealership to consider implementing this profit opportunity because if you’re not getting your share at the moment you are letting money walk out the front door.”

Motor vehicle dealers are always looking for new sources of revenue and new services to offer their customers, and window tint protection will offer you and your customers’ just that.

Window films for motor vehicles have come a long way over the past decade.  Substantial improvements in product performance and installation techniques have made films for vehicles of all types an ever increasingly popular feature.  Nothing is as simple and effective in enhancing the appearance of your customers’ vehicles and the comfort of the passengers as window tint protection.

With the ever-increasing breakdown of our ozone layer, dermatologists warn against over exposure to the sun.  Polarised sunglasses protect the eyes, sunblock protects the skin, and window tint protection protects your customers’, their family and the interior of their vehicle.  Window tint protection acts like a barrier, and can prevent up to 99% of the sun’s harmful ultraviolet A and B rays from entering their vehicle.  And with window tint protection stopping over half of the solar heat from entering their vehicle, your customers’ will stay cooler, more alert and make driving safer and more comfortable.

Benefits include:

  • The ultimate protection from the sun, reflecting up to 99% of ultraviolet rays and reducing heat by up to 60%
  • Reduces glare by up to 60% which helps reduces eyestrain, improves driver safety and comfort
  • Increased passenger safety in the event of an accident – with the protective film holding glass fragments in place, reducing the chance of eye injury and skin lacerations
  • Provides increased privacy and greater security of personal items left in the vehicle
  • Improves vehicle appearance
  • Improves air conditioning efficiency and reduces fuel consumption
  • Helps protect fabric, carpets, leather and vinyl surfaces from fading due to the sun’s ultraviolet rays
